Jan Cunningham obtained her Bachelor’s of Art degree, cum laude, from the University of Tulsa in 1991. She then obtained her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 1994. After law school, Jan for the firm of Robinson, Locke, Gage, Fite and Williams in Muskogee, Oklahoma as an associate in the litigation section, specializing in defending municipalities. In 1998, Jan began clerking for the Honorable Frank H. Seay in the United States District Court for the Eastern of Oklahoma where she remained until his retirement in March of 2017. As a clerk for Judge Seay, Jan worked on a variety of cases including complex civil and criminal litigation. Jan also worked on many cases involving the rights of Native American members and their tribe, social security cases, administrative appeals and civil rights litigation. Jan is licensed in Texas and Oklahoma. She is also licensed in all federal courts in the state of Oklahoma and the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
